Years 3 and 4 had a thrilling morning today with Kevin from ‘Hawking About’ and a selection of his birds of prey.

This year, he brought with him Buzby the barn owl, Fern the tawny owl, Mo the kestrel, Amy the Harris hawk and Dave the peregrine falcon.

The children were treated to an amazing spectacle of high-speed flight with Dave and were given the opportunity to hold Buzby if they wished.

They were also shown owl pellets, which were taken apart so that the children could see what the owls had been eating, such as rodents and beetles, as their bones and wings are discarded in the pellets. Thank you to Kevin for a splendid and instructive morning.
